Cheap DIY 7 inch long-range quadcopter build 2019 - Part 1
This is going to be a step by step series of a DIY drone build. After a long time of research I have came up with the following bill of materials.
After looking at Skystars G730L performance and smoothness, I'll attempt to make something very similar.
As I live in Argentina, I had to break the purchase into multiple shipments, because we have 12 shipments per year free of customs fees if they don't exceed 50 USD each.
Price: USD 26.54
Wheelbase (motor to motor): 295 mm
I liked this offer at 24.99 USD. If it is more expensive than that, wait for it. Waiting is key. It has an on-board current sensor. With constant 35A and 40A peak it's more than enough for most motors. The only motors I investigated that exceed this current with 7 inch props are the Racerstar 2507 BR2507S Fire Edition 1800KV. If you're planning to buy those, get a larger ESC. As I'm using 2306 low KV motors this isn't an issue. By the way, I would avoid the Racerstar motors, it seems they have a lot of issues with bearings (premature wear).
I also liked the accompanying cables, nuts and the XT60 connector.
This comprises my first shipment. When it arrives I will add more images.

Frame
I wanted a light 7 inch frame, and found this Uranus 7 inch carbon fiber frame in Banggood with a weight of just 119 grams.Price: USD 26.54
Wheelbase (motor to motor): 295 mm
ESC
To drive the motors I went for a discount on Banggood over the Anniversary Special Edition Racerstar REV35 35A BLheli_S 3-6S 4in1 ESCI liked this offer at 24.99 USD.
